Our Programs
Infants (6 weeks to 17 months)
Our infant room welcomes and values every child’s developmental phase. We provide an environment where teachers, children, and their families are encouraged to interact and develop strong relationships. In our hope to give each infant individualized personal care. While in our care, the children are stimulated through music, exercise, outdoor blanket time, facial and verbal mimicking. The infant rooms provide gentle and loving care for your little one. We know how difficult it is for parents to be away which is why we have a completely open door policy! We encourage parents to email, call and stop in as many times as they need so that they feel comfortable. We understand that your child is your number one priority and we strive to meet your needs so that you feel safe and secure. Additionally, your child will receive a daily sheet outlining their entire day’s activities. Your child will engage in activities such as: art projects, introduction to sign language, developmentally appropriate large and small gross motor activities, language, sensory activities, as well as time outside as weather permits.
Toddlers (17 months to 2 years)
Our toddlers are offered a variety of opportunities to explore their world through play. Gross motor skills and social skills are developed through both structured and unstructured play. At this age, children are meeting new challenges as fast as they come. Children learn best if they are in a stimulating environment. Music, stories, outdoor play, and learning simplicity envelop much of the day. Our caregivers are dedicated to helping each child develop these skills through a trusting and loving relationship. A parental daily report is given to update each family on meal times, nap times, and all activities accomplished each day. A big focus of a child’s time in the toddler rooms is to begin transitioning to the “classroom schedule.” During this time, your child will work on moving to one nap a day, sleeping on mats, and using silverware and plates. As your child progresses through the toddler room, he or she will begin focusing on more age appropriate activities in a safe environment, such as: Sitting down for group time, participating art and sensory activities, using words and beginning to start talking in sentences, continuing exploration with sign language, developing large motor skills, going on walks outside, and using our imagination while free playing in the classroom. We understand that these children are still very young and we work hard to meet all of their personal security and emotional needs.
Young Preschool (2 years to 3 years)
As older toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop their minds. We provide child-directed activities such as art and sensory time, provide ample opportunities for gross and fine motor development, and introduce language and mathematical concepts into their environment. As they begin to exert their independence, our program opens their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Music, art and movement, and early education fundamentals create a solid foundation for your young preschooler.
Preschoolers (3 years to 4 years)
Our preschoolers are social and curious individuals and they develop at their own pace. Our curriculum allows children to develop a positive self-image while enhancing their physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth. Our students enjoy learning through early writing opportunities, pre-math and reading skills, and art activities while learning about the world around them.
Although it may seem like fun and games to preschoolers, the curriculum we follow is packed with educational elements. Games abound that teach pre-reading skills like phonemic awareness and letter and sound recognition, beginning writing skills, basic math concepts and hands-on science exploration. Our caregivers are dedicated to helping each child develop these skills through trust and a loving relationship.
Pre-Kindergarten (4 years to 5 years)
Our Pre-Kindergarten program aims for the right mix of fun, structured learning and physical activity. The curriculum we use is evidence-informed. This means you can count on your child getting the very best early childhood education based on world-leading research, practices and techniques that engages their natural curiosity and provokes learning and development
In addition to this, our program helps children develop foundation literacy and numeracy skills and supports their social and emotional wellbeing – preparing them for a successful transition to school. Families can expect a range of center initiatives that build a child’s school readiness such as field trips and excursions to the local library.
After-School
Our buses pick up from local area schools. Full day care is available during school holiday closures and days off from school.
School age children do many things at Creative Minds: run around and burn off steam, join clubs that reflect their interests, work on homework, and participate in both teacher and child led activities, games, and play.
